The Best-Loved sons Imrahil is arguably one of the most important canon characters in the cycle, along with Boromir and Faramir.  He is in most respects canonical, but the expansion of a minor character in canon to a major fanfiction character by necessity required quite a bit of extrapolation and filling in.  His mother Olwen's background as a lady whose blood is of the older blood native to Belfalas before the Numenoreans came is a creation of Soledad's.  That his sister Ivriniel died as a baby has some canonical support because of the single date she is given in Tolkien's geneaology.  Isabeau decided that the single year indicated that Ivriniel had died before she reached her first birthday.

The names of his children are canonical, but their personalities are Isabeau's creation, as is his wife Nimrien, who is entirely an original character.

Imrahil's puissance in arms is canon, but his sea career as a young man is entirely invented.  His position as the wealthiest man in Gondor is Isabeau's creation, given his position as second-highest ranking noble in Gondor, his extensive land holdings and Dol Amroth's favorable position as Gondor's major port.  His incredible physical beauty is canon, as he is called The Fair, as is his grandson Elfwine, who is said to strongly resemble him.

The family gift of foresight and the manifestation of the dream of the wave that overwhelmed Numenor are entirely Isabeau's invention, though they certainly have some basis in Tolkien's description of various Numenoreans and elves as being foresighted.  Since Imrahil is said to have both Numenorean and Elven blood, it is not an unreasonable assumption.

Gildor Ingolrion's position as the Lord of Edhellon and his long association with Imrahil and the royal house of Dol Amroth are Soledad's creation, but Isabeau has certainly run with that idea, particularly with Imrahil's son Erchirion, who actually receives an Elf-made ship from Gildor when he becomes a captain.

In terms of adherence to canon personality, Imrahil in canon is obviously a responsible ruler who keeps the welfare of those he is governing to the forefront and a very competent commander.  His misspent youth is entirely Isabeau's creation, since his appearance in canon is restricted to the Siege of Minas Tirith, the march to the Black Gate and the aftermath of the War of the Ring.
