Twenty-eighth Steward of Gondor and second Prince of Ithilien; first child and first son of Faramir and Éowyn.
Since childhood, he has enjoyed a close friendship (and friendly rivalry) with his cousin Elfwine, heir to the throne of Rohan. This friendship was cemented during the year that Elboron, aged fourteen, spent at Edoras (3035, F.A. 13; see Inheritance).
Elboron's close friends and family generally shorten his name to 'Bron'.
As a young man, Elboron was rather serious, and somewhat in awe of his father, Faramir, the twenty-seventh Steward and first Prince. This relationship gradually turned into friendship (see Wizards' Pupils), particularly after Elboron's return from Edoras (3036, F.A. 14).

Faramir and Éowyn's grandson, Barahir, is established in the Unabeauverse as Elboron's son (see Wizards' Pupils), although this is not made explicit in Tolkien's writing.
